The parking of cars, two wheelers and other vehicles within the factory campus is a basic necessity.

CYCLE PARK

Parking of cycles belonging to the workers is done in many factories, adjacent to the gate itself. The cycles are parked in lengthwise sheds on one side of the gate. This should not touch the north or east compound walls. They should not touch the main building walls also. It should be more towards the northwest for factories with north frontage and more towards south east in case of east frontage.

NORTH FACING FACTORY

For a north-facing factory, the gate will be more towards the eastern end in the eesanya. 'The cycle park may be situated in the north and east parts more away from northeast corner. The shed should not lie in northeastern part of plot.

EAST FACING FACTORY

For an east-facing factory, the gate will be more towards the northern end in the eesanya.

The Cycle Park may be situated in the east and north parts more away from northeast corner. The shed should not lie in northeastern part of plot.

SOUTH FACING FACTORY

For a south-facing factory, the gate will be more towards the eastern end in the agni corner. The cycle park may be situated in the east (more towards southwest corner) and south part of plot.

WEST FACING FACTORY

For a west facing, factory, the gate will be more towards the northern end in the vayu corner. The cycle park may be situated in the west (more towards southwest corner) and south of the plot.

In case the long linear parking is situated close to factory main building but not touching it, the parking should be parallel to the main building and not exceed it on the sides.

Such parking spaces are recommended only in the west and the southern sides of the factory building. Sometimes one wall of the main building itself is used to support a roof under which the cycles are parked.

In that case the north and east walls may support a sloping roof, whereas the west and south walls should have only flat structures projecting from them.

In case of building attached parking space on the north and east walls, the northeast portion should be left free from heavy weights.

The entire facade should be attached with a slant roof, but the northeastern half should be left free as a porch.

CAR PARK

The parking of the car affects placement of gate, building an ancillary building, closing of corners etc. The most important criteria is that the main gate should be only in Ucham locations of the compound wall. Mid north and mid east garages are forbidden, if they are separate buildings. Garages in mid west and mid south are allowed touching the compound walls but not the building walls.
